Costco Food Court Menu With Prices in Canada

Twenty items. Five sections. An average price of $4.86. The Costco food court is the smallest menu on this entire site and among the most searched — and the item people search for is a hot dog and a drink for $1.50.

That $1.50 covers a quarter-pound all-beef hot dog with a 20 oz fountain drink, and the identical price buys the quarter-pound Polish sausage with the same drink. Nothing else in Canadian food service is structured quite like it: the combo is cheaper than most single items sold anywhere else, and only the $0.39 gravy undercuts it anywhere on this board.

The pizza arithmetic works against the slice

A slice of cheese or pepperoni is $2.59. A whole 18-inch pizza, cut into six, is $12.99 in either topping — $2.17 a slice. Buy the whole pie and you save 42 cents on every slice, which is the closest this menu comes to a bulk discount, and entirely on brand for the warehouse it sits in.

What the rest of it costs

The Signature Menu holds the expensive end. Seafood chowder is $4.99, a turkey and provolone sandwich $5.99, and chicken strips with fries and a 10-piece order of chicken wings are both $6.99. A 30-piece order of wings at $19.99 is the only item on the menu above $7 and the single reason the price range stretches as far as it does.

Fries and Ice Cream are near-identical in price. French fries and poutine are both $2.79, as is a sundae; vanilla and chocolate soft serve are $2.29 each. Gravy on its own is $0.39, the cheapest line here by a distance. Drinks are just three items: pop at $0.79, cappuccino and café latte at $1.99.

What the numbers say

14 of the 20 items are under $5 and 17 are under $10, so the food court is effectively a two-tier menu — everything is either pocket change or it is the 30-piece wings. Calorie figures are published alongside most items and they are substantial: a 10-piece wing order is listed at 1,000 calories, chicken strips and fries at 800, french fries at 910, and the $1.50 hot dog combo at 540.

Do prices vary across Canada?

The Costco food court is unusual in that its headline prices are held deliberately steady rather than adjusted store by store, which is exactly why the $1.50 hot dog combo is so widely known. Even so, not every Canadian warehouse stocks every item — the chicken wings, seafood chowder and sandwich rotate regionally, and some locations run a shorter board than the twenty items listed here. Access to the food court can also depend on membership rules at your warehouse. Prices exclude applicable sales tax.
