There is a tell in Gino's pricing that almost no other chain on this site shares: 89 of its 238 listings end in .00. Wings, sides, panzerotti, desserts, every drink, every special — whole dollars, no cents. The exception is one section, and it is the biggest one.

Gino's Gourmet Pizzas holds 149 of the 238 items and it is the only place on the menu where a price carries change. That is where $11.75, $15.25, $22.25 and $13.50 live. Step outside it and the arithmetic goes flat: a Panzerotti is $6.00 at 7 inches and $8.00 at 10 inches, Garlic Bread is $5.00, a Pizza Dipping Sauce is $1.00, and a 591mL bottle of Pepsi is $2.00.

Six sizes, two tiers

Gino's runs a six-rung size ladder — Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 20-inch Round and 20-inch Square — and the gourmet pizzas mostly sit on one of two rails. The common rail is $11.75 / $15.25 / $18.00 / $22.25 / $36.00 / $43.00, which is what Americano, Bacon Cheeseburger, Canadian, Hawaiian and Mexicana all cost. The step-up rail is $13.00 / $17.00 / $20.00 / $25.00 / $40.00 / $48.00, used by pizzas like the Grilled Chicken Club. Above both, a handful of specialities reach $53.00 and $58.00 at 20-inch Square.

The plain Gino's Pizzas section is the cheap entrance: Build Your Own runs $8.00 Small, $10.00 Medium, $12.00 Large, $14.00 X-Large, then jumps to $24.00 for the 20-inch Round and $28.00 for the Square. A separate Party Tray Pizza is $24.00.

What the Specials section actually is

Thirty-two of the 238 items sit under Gino's Specials, and it is a mixed bag rather than a discount aisle. Some entries are bundles — Two Can Dine at $16.00, Pizza and Wings at $22.00 medium or $25.00 large, Triple Deal at $39.00 medium and $48.00 large. Others are recipes that simply are not stocked in the gourmet list, including Tandoori Paneer, Shahi Paneer and Tandoori Chicken at $20.00 each, and Chicken Shawarma priced $16.00 / $18.00 / $20.00 / $25.00 across four sizes.

Wings are a straight doubling exercise: Chicken Wings and Boneless Wings are $10.00 for eight and $15.00 for twelve, while Breaded Wings cost $12.00 and $18.00 for the same counts. Twenty of the 21 beverages are $2.00 or less; the two Gatorades at $3.00 and a 2-litre bottle of pop at $4.00 are the only drinks that break the pattern.

Gino's stores are franchised across Ontario and individual locations set their own board, so the whole-dollar figures listed here can shift by a dollar or two — and a store that adjusts one of them tends to keep the round-number habit rather than move to odd cents. Taxes are added at the till on top of everything shown. Treat the two gourmet rails as the useful part: whatever the exact numbers in your store, a 20-inch Square is roughly double an X-Large.
