Church's Chicken is unusual in publishing calorie ranges rather than single figures, and on this Canadian menu the ranges are wide enough to be the story: Fries are listed at 420–1270 cals, Honey-Butter Biscuits at 840–3360, and a 4 Piece Original Chicken Combo at 1020–3720.
The reason is portion count. Church's prints one line for a side and one calorie band covering every size of it, so Mashed Potatoes read 80–270 cals, Coleslaw 200–550, Jalapeno Bombers 340–1020 and Gravy 80–270 — while the price shown, $3.79, is a single number. Poutine is the one side with a fixed figure, 900 cals at $7.99. If you are counting, the bands are a floor-and-ceiling for the whole size range, not a portion you can order.
Chicken is sold by the piece, and the piece price varies
Individual pieces make the logic plain: a Leg is $5.00, a Wing $5.60, and a Thigh or Breast $6.30 each. Buy them in a box and the rate improves — 2 Piece Original is $10.99, 3 Piece $12.99, 4 Piece $14.99, so each additional piece after the second costs $2.00.
Scale further and the Family Meals section takes over. Original Chicken by count runs $29.99 for 8, $42.99 for 12, $56.19 for 16, $79.99 for 20 and $94.99 for 24 — the last of which is the highest price on the menu. The Family Meal versions, which the menu distinguishes from plain piece counts, are $36.99 for 8, $51.49 for 12 and $64.99 for 16.
Adding a combo costs a predictable amount
Across Sandwiches and Wraps, every sandwich is $12.49 and every combo $15.99 — a flat $3.50 for the upgrade, whether it is the Tex Supreme, BBQ, Mexicana, Classic Chicken, Tex Wrap or Mexicana Wrap. The Tender Wrap breaks the pattern in both directions, at $7.49 alone and $11.99 as a combo, making it the cheapest hot item you can order as a meal.
The bottom of the menu
Thirty-four items are under $5, anchored by the six Sauces at $0.50 each — Sweet n Sour, Honey Mustard, Honey Dill, BBQ, Plum and Ranch — and Jalapenos at $0.90. A single Honey-Butter Biscuit is $1.39, an Apple Pie $2.29, and eight sides share the $3.79 price point. All eleven beverages are $3.29.
Do prices vary across Canada?
Church's Chicken locations in Canada are franchised and set their own board prices, so piece counts and family boxes in particular can differ from city to city. Every figure here excludes GST, HST and PST. Calorie ranges are as the menu publishes them and are not a substitute for the nutrition information at your own restaurant.
