Fifty of Krispy Kreme's 52 Canadian listings cost less than five dollars, and the average across the whole menu is $2.71 — by some distance the lowest on this site. Twenty-four doughnuts are covered by just four price points, and the calorie counts attached to them swing far harder than the prices do.

Three numbers, twenty-four doughnuts

The Doughnuts section prices at $1.29, $1.59 and $1.79, with one item at $1.99. The $1.29 tier is the small format — Minis and Mini Chocolate Iced Glazed. The $1.59 tier is the plain and simply-iced classics: Original Glazed, Sugar, Chocolate Iced Glazed, Chocolate Iced Sprinkles, Maple Iced Glazed, Strawberry Iced and Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles. Everything filled or elaborate is $1.79 — Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled, Glazed Raspberry Filled, Glazed Lemon Filled, Powdered Strawberry Filled, Cinnamon Apple Filled, Caramel Kreme Crunch, OREO Cookies and Kreme, Cake Batter, Glazed Chocolate Cake and the novelty Football and Basketball shapes. The Apple Fritter alone sits at $1.99.

The four Featured doughnuts — Black and White Chocolate Chip Dream, Chocolate Iced, Galaxy Brownie and Chocolate Overload Cake — are all $1.79, the same as the filled range.

Calories move, prices don't

Because the pricing is so flat, the nutrition column does the differentiating. At $1.59 you can have an Original Glazed at 190 calories or a Maple Iced Glazed at 290. At $1.79 the spread is far wider: an Original Filled Original Kreme is 190 calories, an OREO Cookies and Kreme is 290, a Caramel Kreme Crunch is 360, and the Chocolate Overload Cake is 500 — nearly triple the first, for identical money. The Football and Basketball are 500 calories each at the same $1.79.

The drinks are where the money is

Only two items on the entire menu cost more than five dollars, and both are coffee. A Mocha is $5.29 and a Brew Box — the one bulk item Krispy Kreme lists — is $15.99, making it the most expensive line by a factor of three. Everything else in Coffee and Espresso is modest: Dark Roast and House Blend at $1.99, Tea at $1.99, Iced Coffee at $2.49, Kaffe Kreme and Hot Chocolate at $3.49, Latte and Cappuccino at $4.59.

Frozen Drinks is the flattest section of all. Every single Frōzzé — Chocolate, Espresso, Caramel Espresso, Mixed Berry, Mocha, Strawberry, Mango, Triple Chocolate — plus the Krispy Kreme Chillers is exactly $3.99, with no flavour surcharge anywhere. Calories in that section run from 270 for the Espresso Frōzzé to 520 for the Triple Chocolate, again at one price. Milk at $1.99 and Chocolate Milk at $2.29 are the section's outliers.

Baked Goods is three lines and closes the menu quietly: Bagels and Croissants at $2.29, Muffins at $2.49.

Do prices vary across Canada?

Krispy Kreme sells in Canada through its own shops and through grocery and convenience cabinets, and the price on a shelf in a partner store is set by that retailer rather than by the doughnut counter — so a single doughnut can carry a different number depending on where you pick it up.
