Five Guys Menu With Prices in Canada

Five Guys runs one of the shortest menus in Canadian fast food and one of the widest price spreads on it: 46 items across six sections, from a $2.99 bottle of water to a $12.99 Bacon Cheeseburger. Almost everything in between is a variation on four things — a burger, fries, a dog, a shake.

The eight-item burger section is really four burgers built twice. Five Guys sells a "Little" version of each — one patty instead of two — and the gap between them is the clearest pricing decision on the menu: a Little Hamburger is $7.99 against $9.99 for the two-patty Hamburger, and a Little Bacon Cheeseburger is $10.59 against $12.99. That $2 to $2.40 step is the second patty, and nothing else. Toppings do not move the price at all, which is why the menu below lists no add-on column.

Fries are priced by size and come in two seasonings at the same money: Little Fries and Little Cajun Fries are both $4.99, Regular is $5.99 either way, Large is $6.99. The seventh item in that section is the outlier — Poutine at $8.79, a Canada-only line that costs more than any single order of fries and more than a Hot Dog.

Where the cheap items are

Seventeen of the 46 items come in under $5, and they are concentrated in two places. The Drinks section carries 13 items priced between $2.99 and $3.39, where the only real variable is cup size — every regular fountain drink and bottle is $3.09, every large is $3.39. The other cheap corner is Sandwiches, which is where the non-burger options live: a Veggie Sandwich at $3.99 and a Grilled Cheese at $4.99 are the two least expensive things you can order as a meal.

The flat-priced sections

All 10 shakes cost $5.99 regardless of flavour, and that includes the mix-ins Five Guys treats as flavours in their own right — Bacon and Whipped Cream sit on the same list, at the same price, as Chocolate and Vanilla. Hot Dogs work on a narrower spread than anything else: $5.99 for a plain Hot Dog, $6.99 for either the Cheese Dog or the Bacon Dog, $7.99 for both together.

The result is a menu with an average item price of $6.04 where 42 of 46 items are under $10. The four that are not are all double-patty burgers.

Do prices vary across Canada?

Five Guys locations in Canada are a mix of corporate and franchised stores, and franchisees set their own prices. Expect the figures here to run a little high in Ontario and BC city-centre and airport locations, and a little low in smaller markets. Menu prices are also quoted before GST, HST or PST, so what you pay at the till depends on your province. Use these as a guide to the gaps between items — the spread between a Little burger and a full one holds everywhere, even when both numbers shift.

Five Guys — frequently asked questions

A bottle of water at $2.99. The cheapest item you would order as food is the Veggie Sandwich at $3.99, followed by Little Fries, Little Cajun Fries and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich at $4.99.
How much more is a regular Five Guys burger than a Little one?
