Red Robin Menu With Prices In Canada

Red Robin's eighteen Gourmet Burgers span just four dollars, from $17.99 to $21.99 — a narrower band than the sauces underneath them, which range from $0.99 to $9.99. The menu's real variety is not in what a burger costs; it is in the 29-item Sides and Sauces list and the family bundles priced by headcount.

Start with the bundles, because they are the only place on this 168-item menu where the arithmetic is completely explicit. Burger Bundle for 4 is $71.96. For 5 it is $89.95. For 6 it is $107.94. Divide any of them and you get $17.99 per head — the same number as Keep It Simple, the least expensive Gourmet Burger. The bundle is priced as burgers-times-people with nothing added and nothing taken off.

The two burger tiers

Above the bundle line, Gourmet Burgers cluster hard: Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger $18.99, Bacon Cheeseburger and Banzai and Bleu Ribbon $19.99, Smoke and Pepper and Savoury Steakhouse $20.49, Scorpion and Black and Bleu and Smashed Avocado N' Bacon $20.99, then Open Wide and the Montreal Smoked BBQ Brisket Burger at the top on $21.99.

Tavern Burgers is the short answer to all of that — three items only, all doubles: Haystack Double and Red's Double at $16.99, Pig Out Double at $17.99. Every Tavern Burger undercuts every Gourmet Burger.

Ninety-nine-cent sauces

Thirty-nine items come in under five dollars and Sides and Sauces supplies most of them. Nine sauces are $0.99 apiece — Caesar, Ranch, Mayo, HP, Tartar, Teriyaki, Bleu Cheese, Island Heat and Whiskey River BBQ. The mid rung is $1.59 for Buzz Sauce, Campfire Mayo, Chipotle Aioli and Salsa-Ranch, and $1.99 buys Gravy, House-Made Salsa, Roasted Garlic Aioli or Smoke and Pepper Ketchup. Actual sides sit higher: Mac 'N' Cheese and Steamed Broccoli at $3.99, Yukon Chips at $4.99, Steak Fries at $6.99, Yam Fries and Garlic Fries at $8.99.

The extremes of the menu both live in odd corners. At the bottom, a 200mL Minute Maid tetra juice is $1.49 and a bleu cheese dressing is $0.99. At the top, ahead of every steak-adjacent entree, is the Gourmet Wing and Sauce Bar in Appetizers at $69.99 — and above even that, the six-person Burger Bundle at $107.94.

Where the lemonades sit

Beverages is the second-largest section at 27 items and it splits cleanly in two. Bottled and canned drinks are $3.99 or under, including every 500mL Coca-Cola product and Dasani water. The made-in-house drinks are $5.49 to $5.99: Freckled Lemonade, Sunset Lemonade, Poppin' Purple Lemonade, Very Berry Raspberry Limeade, Cherry Lime Flip and both Root Beer Floats. Milkshakes are their own five-item section at $7.99, with the Caramel Apple Pie Milkshake a dollar more at $8.99.

Do prices vary across Canada?

Red Robin's Canadian restaurants are a mix of company-operated and franchised sites, and menu boards are set regionally rather than nationally, so a burger in a Vancouver mall can differ from one in suburban Ontario. Everything quoted excludes GST, HST or PST depending on the province. The ratios hold up better than the dollar figures: a Tavern Burger stays about three dollars under a Gourmet Burger, and a bundle stays close to the per-person price of the burger it is built on.
